While discussing a mix-tape competition at lunch today, the subject of Rickrolling came up. I sheepishly confessed that in high school I'd been a huge fan of Rick Astley and knew all the words to "Never Gonna Give You Up" (plus others, like the classic "Together Forever").

One of my co-workers looked at me incredulously and said, "You're the only person I know who knew who Rick Astley was before Rickrolling started."

I haven't felt this old since Lisa asked me who Cyndi Lauper was.

hahahahah that's a terrific comment. I definitely didn't know him before Rickrolling. That's sort of hilarious.

Also, do you have a muxtape? ( As usual I am lfar)

I can't believe I actually just fell for your own rickroll tactic - I dared click on the Lisa link.
Well done.

Who are these people who don't know who Rick Astley is? I remember his songs so fondly. I loved how smooth and comforting his voice was. And his dancing!!!

Brings me back to elementary school. Good times.

I fail to believe anyone didn't know Rick Astley before rickrolling. Even if you were IN THE WOMB, there was no escape from that cheesy sound.

I favored the Bowie-esque Jon Astley from the same period.

haha, I love that song. It's hard to believe that big voice comes out of the little boy.
